Job Summary:
The Accounts Manager is a key member of the finance and accounting team, responsible for overseeing various financial activities, including financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and compliant financial operations within the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Generate and distribute periodic financial reports to management and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Record and review journal entries, adjusting entries, and account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or irregularities.
- Assist in the development and management of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and recommendations as needed.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making and financial planning.
- Prepare and review tax returns and related schedules, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors or auditors as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during the audit process.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
- Streamline accounting procedures and internal controls to minimize risk.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.
- Assist in managing the workload and priorities of the finance and accounting team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is often preferred.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and VAT filings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
